This is the second time we’ve made this cross and the first litter, now nearly a year old, has had nothing but good reviews. Angus and Charlie work daily on our small ranch. Angus is a tough head dog with more eye than I’ve seen in most aussies. He has a really strong sense of group and a really strong fetch. Charlie is a very strong heel dog but will hit a head if its necessary. She doesn’t have the eye angus has but she is tough gritty and will really push when she needs to. She has a good sense of group and decent fetch but if I had to pick a weak point this is where I’d put it. That being said Charlie broke her leg at a year old and was never formally started. She has the want to and the try and we use her daily but she doesn’t have the formal training of Angus. She is smart and picks up quickly on what we need done and she gets it done. She’s one of my favorites to take out to do chores as she listens really well and just gets the job done. She reads stock well and uses only the force necessary to get the job done. If I have finer work to do and really need a dog that’s more formally trained I take Angus. Nothing is going to get past him. He just came off of a year layoff due to injury. and he hasn’t missed a beat he picked up right were we left off and I really expect him to become one of the best dogs I own. His intensity, tenacity and trainability really set him apart. Their first litter turned on early and showed the same grit and tenacity that their parents had.
